เมื่อวันที่ 25 - 26 มีนาคม 2560 สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงราบัต ได้ร่วมกับสมาพันธ์มวย มวยไทย และกีฬาที่เกี่ยวเนื่องของโมร็อกโก จัดการแข่งขันมวยไทยชิงถ้วยเอกอัครราชทูต ที่สนามกีฬาโมฮัมเหม็ดที่ 5 นครคาซาบลังกา โดยในช่วงสองวันดังกล่าว มีการแข่งขันในรอบคัดเลือกและการชิงชนะเลิศ รวมกว่า 400 คู่ โดยแบ่งเป็นรุ่นชาย หญิง เยาวชนชาย และเยาวชนหญิง รวมทั้งหมด 42 รุ่น  ทั้งนี้ การแข่งขันมวยไทยได้รับความสนใจจากชาวโมร็อกโกเป็นอย่างมาก มีผู้เข้าชมการแข่งขันอย่างคับคั่งทั้งสองวัน และมีการทำข่าวโดยสื่อโทรทัศน์ ซึ่งในช่วงของการมอบรางวัลแก่ผู้ชนะการแข่งขัน เอกอัครราชทูต ได้ให้สัมภาษณ์ทางรายการโทรทัศน์ 3 รายการ  นอกจากนี้ การแข่งขันรอบชิงชนะเลิศยังได้รับเกียรติจากเอกอัครราชทูตมาเลเซีย อุปทูตฯ บรูไนฯ และรองหัวหน้าสำนักงานสถานเอกอัครราชทูตอินโดนีเซีย เข้ารับชมการแข่งขันและร่วมมอบรางวัลให้แก่ผู้ชนะอีกด้วย

สำหรับการแข่งขันในปีนี้ สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ และสมาพันธ์ฯ ได้จัดเตรียมถ้วยรางวัล เหรียญรางวัล เข็มขัดสำหรับผู้ชนะ รวมทั้งเสื้อลายมวยไทยและของที่ระลึกอื่น ๆ  นอกจากนี้ นักมวยที่ได้รับคะแนนมากที่สุดยังจะได้รับรางวัลเป็นการเดินทางไปฝึกมวยไทยที่ประเทศไทยเป็นเวลาหนึ่งเดือนด้วย  อนึ่ง สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ยังได้รับการสนับสนุนของรางวัลจากบริษัท Moto Tek ซึ่งเป็นผู้นำเข้าและจัดจำหน่ายน้ำมันเครื่อง PTT Lubricants ในโมร็อกโก ประกอบด้วยเสื้อยืด หมวก และของที่ระลึกอื่น ๆ

On 25 - 26 March 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy in Rabat and the Royal Moroccan Federation of Kickboxing Muay Thai organised the Ambassador's Cup Muay Thai Tournament at the Mohamed V in Casablanca. The two-day event comprises boxing matches in the elimination round and final round, with a total of more than 400 matches, in the categories for male, female, male youth, and female youth (42 categories in total). The event was hugely popular among Moroccans, with substantial spectators over the two days. The event was also televised, with the Ambassador being interviewed by three news anchors during the awarding ceremony. Moreover, the final matches were attended by the Ambassador of Malaysia, the Chargé d’Affaires of Brunei, and the Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, who also presided over the award ceremony.

For this year’s competition, the Royal Thai Embassy in Rabat and the Federation prepared for the winners trophies, medals, belts, Muay-Thai printed t-shirts, and other souvenirs. The best overall athlete will also be awarded with a one-month Muay-Thai training course in Thailand.  The Royal Thai Embassy also receives extra gifts from Moto Tek Company which imports and sells PTT Lubricants motor oil in Morocco. These include t-shirt, caps, and other souvenirs.
